It Is Very Costly If You Believe In Anwar July 11, 2009

Kg Buah Pala Folks
“Vote us to power and the land is yours.” That was the promise and assurance given by Anwar Ibrahim when he met residents in the controversial Kampung Buah Pala during his campaign trail in Penang before the March 8 General Election.

They have never heard from him since then.

That is typical of Anwar, giving empty promises and hopes to the people. Many promises and hopes were also given to the Malays when he was in Umno, the party he was supposed to helm after Dr Mahathir but nothing turned into reality.

And now the Indians in Kampung Buah Pala are hounding Anwar for that promise.

They can wait until doomsday for the promise and hope that will never come.

They have only themselves to blame for believing in Anwar. They must remember that Anwar is now too busy with his sodomy trial and does not have even a second to attend to their problem.

In fact, Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has been caught off guard with the promise and hopes given by Anwar to the residents.

Guan Eng is lost and did not know what to do now. His attempt to shift the problem to the federal government was rebuked as the matter is under the purview of his state government.

The contentious Kampung Buah Pala is under the Bukit Gelugor parliamentary constituency where Karpal Singh is the MP. But residents there have not sighted his presence in the area since the issue cropped up a month ago.

It seems that the issue is too hot, even for someone like Karpal to handle.

Residents in the village have also prohibited Seri Delima state assemblyman, R.S..N. Rayer from entering the village.

The Oasis

Rayer has been reported to have made a remark “Over my dead body” to the developer Nusmetro Ventures which had earmarked to village for a residential project named The Oasis.

He was barred because he talks too much but no action seen taken by him.

This is the heavy price the Kampung Buah Pala residents have to pay for believing into Anwar and Pakatan Rakyat.

We hope they have learnt their lesson well.
