The Police should arrest and charge Ronnie Liu

The Police should arrest and charge Ronnie Liu

The sudden death of Political Secretary Teoh Beng Hock is a very high charged news item and easily manipulated from the wrong reasons, across the country. Everyone should remain calm and let the authorities do their job; Police, MACC and forensic investigate and determine the cause of death and who is responsible.

However, some people chose to not remain calm. In fact, some people to be thearical about this episode. Theaterics sometime went overboard and eventually lead to unlawful actions. This what happened to Selangor DAP State Exco Ronnie Liu. In his tantrums, he broke the door to the Klang Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital mortuary.

The NST has the story:

Grille for mortuary door after fracas

2009/07/18

KLANG: The main door to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital’s (HTAR) mortuary was fixed with a grille shortly before noon yesterday after its latch was broken in a small fracas involving state executive councillor Ronnie Liu on Thursday night.

On that night, a scuffle broke out when Liu was denied entry by mortuary staff when he wanted to view the body of Seri Kembangan assemblyman Ean Yong Hian Wah’s political secretary Teoh Beng Hock that arrived at about 9.30pm.

An angry Liu reportedly kicked the door thrice when mortuary staff latched the door from inside. Once the latch gave way, Liu and his driver went in and a short argument ensued.

A hospital employee said in all his 15 years service at the hospital, the door to the mortuary had never had a grille.

HTAR director Dr Ghazali Hasni Md Hassan said the grille was only a temporary measure.

He said on the day of the incident, the exco wanted to enter the mortuary but the hospital could not grant him permission as the body was not under the hospital’s jurisdiction but the police’s.

“That night, the investigation officer was absent but Liu insisted on entering and seeing the body. However, after a discussion with the staff, he understood our position and did not enter.”

********************

Why is Ronnie Liu so emotional and behaving in such a manner, not befitting a Yang Berhormat and State Exco? Does he has something to hide, hence do a theaterics to ‘cover’ so that the attention is no longer on him (for the ongoing investigations prior to Teoh’s sudden death)? So many believed that his name was mentioned in several high profile investigations lately.

Regardless, Ronnie Liu should be arrested and charged in court for destruction of Government property. This propensity of outrage and ‘gorilla’ (samseng) behaviour clearly illustrates his linkages to the gangters of the underworld and Lords of Vices.

Police should not hold back just because Ronnie Liu is a highly controversial DAP leader being alleged and associated to people in organised crimes. This is a perfect opportunity for the Police to demonstrate their professionalism in upholding the law without fear or favour, even in highly controversial situation and circumstance. Of course, the Police should also investigate him thoroughly on the allegations thrown at him. At least, to find the truth if not clear his name as a Selangor Yang Berhormat and State Exco.

We certainly don’t think Selangor voters want the conscience of electing someone closely related to organised criminals eating them inside, do we?

.................................................

ONLY WHEN IT INVOLVES OTHERS.......

ONE trait about people is that they often are able to see where others have gone wrong. They almost always have an opinion about how a department or an agency should do their work. Politicians especially are known to cry freedom and transparency. "Crack down on corruption, catch the crooks, reporters must be free to move and report...."

But investigate them for possible abuse of power and misappropriation of funds and they hit the roof! "It's all racial -- because we are Chinese," suggests Selangor exco Theresa Kok of the on-going investigations by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission. But as it is the commission is also investigating five other politicians who happen to be Malays......

To shield itself from further insinuations similar to the one from Kok, maybe the MACC should ensure that each time it investigates a complaint on corruption, it must go after a Malay, Chinese and Indian the way this racial representation is portrayed in the local TV dramas and the audio-visual creations from Filem Negara.

Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng was one of those who wanted more press freedom but that was before he became the head of a government. He found the environment completely different once he assumed the chief ministership and one day decided to ban the NST from his official functions and press conferences. The Official Secrets Act was one legislation which didn't have a special place in Guan Eng's heart. That too when he was just an ordinary politician. But when some local authority decisions were leaked out Guan Eng hinted that he may have to invoke the OSA!

While the political situation in Perak appears to have calmed down by many notches in the last couple of months, Selangor and Penang are hot and both are ruled by the opposition. Some Pakatan Rakyat politicians in Selangor must be feeling hot under the collar now that their utilisation of funds is being investigated by the MACC. In Penang the Kampung Buah Pala issue remains very much in the news and now a recording is being circulated, detailing the assurances and pledges made by PR politicians during the campaigning for the 12th general election last year.

So far Guan Eng doesn't seem to be able to handle this issue well and to the satisfaction of the residents and their supporters. As if that was not bad enough Guan Eng had to shoot himself in the foot with his uncalled for remarks about the lawyer for the residents using his original name as a Sikh even though he had converted to Islam many years ago.

That I think was going a bit too far, especially coming from someone who studied up to university and lives in a plural society like ours. What is a Muslim name, Guan Eng? Please tell me because I can tell you about some Muslim names from around the world. In football there's Frederic Kanoute of Mali and Christian Negouai. Nearer to home I can think of Indonesian artistes Tamara Bleszynski, Primus Yustisio, Emilia Contessa and Alessandra Gottardo. Get the drift Guan Eng?

ngs and doodlings of an unsettled mind!

DAP failed to bring out the rakyat in rally for Teoh

The rakyat chose to ‘wait and see’ before reacting, even in high profile controversial case. This was proven to the rally organised by DAP for Political Secretary Teoh Beng Hock’ s sudden death this afternoon at Kelana Jaya stadium. Despite on a Sunday afternoon, only 3,000 people turn up.

Malaysiakini.com has the story:

Thousands throng stadium for Teoh
Jul 19, 09 5:57pm
More than 3,000 people have packed the Kelana Jaya stadium in a two-hour gathering to mark the death of political aide Teoh Beng Hock.

Pakatan Rakyat top brass, including Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim and Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, took turns to address the crowd.

The stadium is decked with posters, placards and huge banners bearing the image of Teoh, with the words ‘Justice for Beng Hock’.

In his speech, DAP stalwart Lim Kit Siang called for a royal commission of inquiry to look into the death.

He said the cabinet must make an immediate decision on this.

The veteran politician also urged the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief to step down.

Among those who spoke included former PAS vice-president and Kelantan executive councillor Husam Musa, Selangor exco Xavier Jayakumar, Selangor assembly speaker Teng Chang Khim and DAP veteran leader Karpal Singh.

A number of other Selangor cabinet members and state representatives were at the rally but Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim was absence.

The rally, which kicked off at 4.30pm, ended at about 7pm.

Teoh, who was political secretary to Selangor state executive councillor Ean Yong Hean Wah, have plunged to his death from the Plaza Masalam building in Shah Alam on Thursday

.

His mysterious death has outraged opposition supporters who have demanded an independent probe. The 30-year-old journalist was last seen at the MACC Selangor office – located on the 14th floor of the building – where he was brought in for questioning over investigations into alleged misappropriation of funds by his boss.

**************************

Considering that amongst the politicians who were expected to be there include former-abuse-of-power-convict Anwar “Drama King” Ibrahim, DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang, DAP Secretary General Lim Guan Eng and Selangor PKR MB Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim, the turn up is relatively low for highly charged political rally as such.

This only proves that despite the merit of the case at this moment of time, the rakyat is no longer gullible and prefer to ‘wait and see’ till investigations are fully completed and the findings are made available. The rakyat no longer can be drawn out in mobstreet fashion by people with theaterics and have the malice intentions for creating distrust against the establishment and authorities. Worse still, these are the same people who incited and instigated the minorities which enraged the majorities, as reflected on the bloody 13 May 1969 racial unrest.

The rakyat should continue to be cautious with attempts to destablize the nation by anarchists.

UNSPIN: Mungkinkah Teoh Beng Hock terlebih kata?

Dia risau pasal diri sendiri.
