Azmin's Salvo in Selangor is a signal from Anwar?

Azmin's Salvo in Selangor is a signal from Anwar?

If you are too lazy to read, listen to my narration here -- got some nice pictures woh

When Azmin Ali fired broadside at Selangor Menteri Besar, Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim's Exco, it caught everyone by surprise. Even people on BN's side were craning their neck, arching their eyebrows and pouting their lips. Some even had a slight frown.

DAP, as expected jumped like a cat on a hot tin roof, Selangor DAP Chairman Ean Yong Hian Wah was quick to jump on Azmin's throat and basically told him to brush up on state government policies before criticising them.

Regardless of whether the Bukit Antarabangsa state assemblyman is well versed with local policies or not, the fact that he dared to openly criticise Khalid's exco after one year in office may indicate a deeper rift in Pakatan.

Rumours of clash of ego between Khalid and Anwar has long been heard in Umno circles but of course PKR has been quick to pooh pooh the suggestion.

Azmin's salvo may indicate that a strong undercurrent is developing within Selangor PKR.

Everyone knows that Azmin is one of Anwar's closest and most trusted lieutenant adn he is also a seasoned enough politician to know that Pakatan can do without any controversy, especially in Selangor where their advantage is slim.

Couple with the rumour that Brother Anwar is thinking of putting to pasture one accidental cameraman from parliament and suddenly the undercurrent starts to look more real.

Gwo Burne, whose biggest contribution to Anwar's campaign for becoming PM is 'Correct, correct, correct' may soon find himself on the wrong side of the party leader.

Well at least he doesn't ahve to put on a suit and look uncomfortable in Parlaiment anymore.

So who can handle this metropolitan constituency that has a vibrant mix of race and social strata?

Who else but the latest addition to PKR's trophy cabinet, former law minister Zaid Ibrahim.

Rumour of him given a seat is not too far fetched, it is common currency among political observers that Zaid only made the move to PKR after the scene has been set and a potential prominent psosition, if not an actual seat, has been found for him.

Zaid would not have joined PKR if all he was going to get is a front row seat and second-tier billing at Pakatan Rakyat Rallies. He is too good for that, at least he would think so.

So retiring Gwo Burne is a good move for PKR, at least they can now give the good people of Kelana jaya an MP they can be proud of. The nightmare of coming to a local function and having a young man with generous BMI and spiky hair officiating functions is nearly at an over.

Zaid Ibrahim is a good candidate for a constituency with intelligent and critical voters like Kelana Jaya....

So what message does that send to Khalid? maybe he is just a one-term MB....next General Election Zaid will move stateside and take over...

far fetched? probably, but I think it makes good reading and it is almost plausible.

But since we are living in a time where truth is stranger than fiction, maybe nearly plausible is the most we can expect from any political postulation.

Good Night Kuala Lumpur..
