Swearing on the Quran: What is Anwar afraid of? - Muhyiddin

PUTRAJAYA: Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin yesterday challenged de facto Parti Keadilan Rakyat leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to swear on the Quran to clear his name of the sodomy allegation levelled by his former aide.
The Umno vice-president and international trade and industry minister said Anwar should not keep mum.

"He has been brave, vocal and decisive on many issues. Why not be decisive in this case? Why is he shying away from an Islamic way to clear his name?"

Muhyiddin said if Anwar wanted to be accepted by voters, he should take up the challenge.

"If he is innocent, do it through the Islamic option. People are waiting. Why is he not accepting the challenge?" Anwar was quoted as saying that he would not swear on the Quran for fear that it would be manipulated.

Anwar had said his former aide Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan's action was to spoil his chances of winning the Permatang Pauh by-election.

kzso - why ask stupid question when the answer is obvious?
