Folks, anyone with half a brain could see that things like this would happen. Here is the problem - the religious guys usually have less than half. That is the problem. I have a question to ask these religious fellows who wear long dresses and behave abnormal - when these Molotov cocktails explode and set fire to things who will you call :
i. Jesus
ii. Allah
iii. the Ghostbusters or
iv. the Bomba guys
No free popcorn for guessing the right answer ok. Only one of these four can answer your call. Or even your prayers.
Until the law is changed, propagation of beliefs in imaginary flying unicorns to Muslims shall be restricted. That is what the law says in our country. So keep your imaginary flying unicorns inside your kirk. We hope that one day this law will be repealed. Apparently that would be a sign of a more mature society. For that to happen, beliefs in imaginary pet unicorns should be placed where they belong - in the bin.
Snuok Hurgronje (pronounced Sneaky Hurgronje) introduced the word 'Allah' into the Indonesian Bible as a tool to propagate Christianity among the Muslims in Indonesia. The original intent was to propagate to and convert the Muslims.
There was no other reason for Snuok Hurgronje to insist on the word 'Allah' in the Indonesian Bible. Tuhan was the common word for 'god'. It had less oomph. In far away Indonesia (far away from Arabia) 'Allah' was the special Arab word for the great Muslim 'god'. From day one, the intention of the Dutch in Indonesia was to propagate Christianity to the Muslims, the Mussulmans or the Mohammedans. They would have to acquire 'Allah'. And they did.
The issue in Malaysia is not the word Allah. It is the law that says that Muslims cannot convert to another religion. You can check in but you cannot check out, except feet first (apostasy is punishable by death). Like it or not, this is the Law.
Change the Law and the Bible printers will be happy. But the Bomba fellows may be put on 24 hour alert.
So when the Molotov cocktails start exploding who you gonna call?

ii. Jesus
iii. Allah
iv. the Bomba guys
You know there is only one answer. Only one of the four can asnwer your call. And your prayers. Think carefully.
