Genuinely concerned Malaysians of all races who were totally hostile towards the TPPA.

Kabinet Pun Tak Sekata Pasal Jamaludin Jarjis' "Trans Pacific Partnership with America" (TPPA)

Folks last nite I attended a small group meeting about the TPPA. Last month I attended the TPPA Open Day held by MITI.  Dato Mustapa Mohamed held the forte grandly against 1400 genuinely concerned Malaysians of all races who were totally hostile towards the TPPA.

Before I forget let me tell you that we are NOT signing the TPPA with 12 or 13 countries. The TPPA is actually an agreement we are signing with the United States of America and the US alone. Yes I know that 12 other countries will be signatories but that is just garnish, the fancy dark sauce decoration on the plate.

Each of the 12 other countries are signing their sovereignty away to the United States. And the Gomen as well as our boys are totally blur about the whole deal. Last nite I saw the PM's people whose eyes were open but their lights were off.

They do not understand anything about what is going on or what they are doing. The consultans who are helping the Gomen (there were two of them last nite) are totally indifferent to what will happen to the country. To them it is just another file they have to handle - most likely worth millions in consulting fees to them.

The second thing you should know is that  TPPA really stands for Jamaludin Jarjis' Trans Pacific Partnership with America (TPPA).

Bwana : Unaweza kuangalia kama tumbili kidogo?
Tell me Bwana, is everyone in your country  as cute as you?

Here is what I have gleaned. The Cabinet is divided over the TPPA. Many Ministers, especially from Sabah, Sarawak and the other States are against the TPPA.  So the Malaysian Cabinet is NOT united in support of the TPPA.

Huge swathes of Gomen, INCLUDING Khazanah Nasional Bhd are NOT in support of the TPPA. The Civil Service (yes including the MITI folks) are not in full support of the TPPA. Many Civil Servants are being forced to do something they dont agree with.

By the way last month at that TPPA Open Day I met and said hello to this girl in the picture - Dato Rebecca Sta Maria the KSU of the MITI. Rebecca wasnt too happy that I had said nasty things about her (as the KSU) in my Blog.  But as you can see from the happy smiles we are not enemies.

I have great respect for our Civil Service especially the Senior people. They are professionals. They know their job and they do their jobs. They also obey orders. That MUST be the nature of any successful Civil Service.  They must obey the Government of the day.

These are the real people who keep the country humming.  Tell them to do good things and we all prosper.

Tapi kalau kapten sudah tersasul atau tersewel and they tell the Civil Service to do all sorts of silly things then you are only wasting the time and energy of these professionals. They could be doing something more useful for the country.

But right now so much time, energy and money is being wasted chasing after this Trans Pacific Partnership with America or TPPA.

Almost the entire nation is against the TPPA.  The NGOs are against the TPPA. Ayahanda Tun Dr Mahathir is dead against the TPPA. Utusan Melayu is against the TPPA. Syed Akbar Ali is against the TPPA. I know many of you readers are against the TPPA.

So who is the jerk-off who is in favour of the TPPA? The answer is Jamaludin Jarjis. This seems to be a one man show. This brings to light the way the Prime Minister is running this country.

The PM has delegated different parts of policy making to be driven by his buddies, cronies (alamak I heard about that too) and friends. For example the 'One Malaysia, One Israel  Endless Possibilities', 'Mongolia Endless Possibilities'  fiasco is the braindead output of some other dunggus around the PMO.

By the way there is a theory that there are traitors and Opposition spies planted around the PM to embarass him and make him look like a fool. Looking at the way things are going, this is not an unlikely scenario.

The 'One Malaysia Endless Possibilities' fiasco appears a deliberate attempt to connect the PM with Altantuya again. 'Mongolia Endless Possibilities' cannot be a genuine coincidence. No way. someone wants to embarrass the PM. And these people are now around the PM. The pengkhianat are his closest advisors.

Tapi as Din Turtle says, siapa lantik semua punasihat yang bodoh itu? PM sendiri yang lantik.

Back to the small group TPPA meeting last nite.  Things are just not right.

This is what I said - the Gomen  has expended so much time and effort trying to explain how we can avoid the "dangers and the booby traps" of the TPPA.

I have a simpler suggestion -

1.  Can the Gomen make a simple list of all the benefits of the TPPA to the country and all our people?

2.  Can the Gomen tell us what type of disaster will befall Malaysia if we do not sign the TPPA? Will we die? Will our palm oil trees stop growing? Will our factories stop functioning? Apakah bala yang terburuk dan bencana tidak tersangka yang akan menimpa kita jika kita tidak menyertai TPPA ini ?

So far the Gomen has NOT been able to articulate this clearly and concisely with real solid examples and facts.

The arguments that I heard are quite simplistic and really scary.

For example a Canadian multi-national operating here will benefit if we sign the TPPA. Why? Cos some import duties between Malaysia and Canada will disappear which will benefit this Canadian company more. They are already making profits from their operations here in Malaysia. The TPPA will generate more profits for them.

Canada is not even our major trading partner.  But the Multi National Corporations will make more profits.  Will they increase the salaries of the workers here in Malaysia? Why should they?

Then the TPPA will also seek to tell us how to manage our timber industry. This is what is meant by losing our sovereignty. Why should we listen to the Americans about how we should manage our own resources?

So what is the solution? The Gomen has "flagged" forestry as a non negotiable portion of the TPPA.  The TPPA will not include our timber industry. And likewise there is a long list of 'exceptions' that the Gomen wants to be taken out of the TPPA.

But why enter an agreement that has such a long list of exceptions? What kind of agreement is that?

This is what the Gomen is now trying to tell us. That we are signing the TPPA but subject to this exemption, that exception, ini tak ada, that one we object strongly etc.

Kerja bodoh. Its all because of this fellow :
