Vietnam’s search fruitless at site where satellite detected suspected plane debris
Malaysian Airlines MH370 jetliner, a Reuters journalist on board a search plane said today.
A search by two Vietnamese aircraft responding to information provided by a Chinese satellite has failed to locate objects suspected of being wreckage from the missing
Aircraft repeatedly circled the area over the South ChinaSea but were unable to detect any objects, said the journalist, who flew aboard an Antonov 26 cargo plane for three hours.
According to Reuters, Vietnamese and Malaysian planes were scanning waters where a Chinese government agency website said a satellite had photographed three "suspicious floating objects" on Sunday.
The location was close to where the plane lost contact with air traffic control.
Meanwhile, a tweet from AP said DCA director-general Azharuddin Abdul Rahman has also said that no plane debris has been found at the spot identified in Chinese satellite images.
Earlier tweets were quoting Vietnamese authorities saying they too had searched the area in the photographs to no avail. – March 13, 2014.
