Explain stand on unity govt, DAP tells PAS

GEORGE TOWN: The DAP wants PAS to explain its stand on any proposed national unity government at the next Pakatan Rakyat top leadership meeting next week.
DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng reiterated that the Islamist party had never raised the issue to be discussed at previous Pakatan meetings.
Commenting on the claim by PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang that its partners in Pakatan – PKR and DAP – had agreed to his proposal for a unity government comprising all political parties, Lim said:
“Being a religious man, saying something not true, he (Abdul Hadi) not only has to answer to DAP but also to God. I want to again and again repeat that DAP has never been informed about the matter, and we have never said we agreed to the concept.
“It is completely untrue. What unity government are they talking about?” he said at a press conference after the swearing-in-ceremony of new Penang Municipal Council president Tan Cheng Chui here Monday.
Lim said he was not sure if Abdul Hadi was misquoted but noted that there was no such discussion.
“Well, he has to answer that at the next meeting, which could be held sometime next week. Maybe it is a problem that PAS is internally struggling with, and maybe it had talks with Umno and PKR, but nothing of that sort with the DAP,” he added.
Both Abdul Hadi and his deputy Nasharudin Mat Isa had spoken about the possibility of having dialogues with all political parties, including Umno, to reach a consensus on a national unity government concept.
However, PAS spiritual leader Datuk Seri Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat has made it clear that he is strongly against any such proposed unity government, saying that those who spoke about PAS co-operating with Umno were oblivious to the Islamist party’s struggle and the rivalry that existed between the two parties.
“There is no need for such talk. It is nonsense, it is rubbish,” the Kelantan Mentri Besar had said at a ceramah in conjunction with the party’s Muktamar here on Saturday night.
Meanwhile, Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein is agreeable to Umno-PAS talks on national unity issues.
However, he noted that it was vital to do the “groundwork” well first.
“We have to make sure that whatever we discuss must bring about positive results in the agenda of unity and solidarity,” he told reporters after attending a briefing at the Kepayan state police headquarters here Monday.

KULIAH MAGHRIB OLEH USTAZ LIM...
Setelah selesai Muktamar PAS, banyak pula hal-hal berbangkit yang diperbahaskan oleh parti-parti dalam Pakatan Pembangkang. Kerajaan Perpaduan yang dicanang-canangkan oleh Tuan Guru Haji Hadi pula menjadi sasaran DAP untuk mempertikaikan keikhlasan PAS dalam Pakatan Pembangkang.
Khalifah Umar Abdul Aziz wannabe a.ka. Lim Guan Eng, sekali lagi melafazkan kalimah keramatnya meminta agar Tuan Guru Haji menjelaskan apakah yang dimaksudkan dengan konsep Kerajaan Perpaduan yang disebut-sebutnya ketika Muktamar PAS yang lalu.
Beliau juga berpesan-pesan kepada Tuan Guru Haji Hadi agar sentiasa bercakap benar ataupun dalam bahasa kasarnya "jangan jadi seorang penipu" dalam Pakatan Pembangkang. Paling hebat, ungkapan "Sebagai seorang alim, seseorang itu bukan sahaja perlu menjawab kepada DAP, tetapi juga kepada Tuhan" seolah-olah membayangkan Haji Hadi seorang yang begitu rendah moralnya. Masyaallah!
Nampak gayanya, pujian melambung-lambung ketika diawal ikatan pakatan pembangkang ini telah digunakan sebaik-baiknya oleh Lim Guan Eng bagi memberi nasihat yang berguna untuk Haji Hadi.
Mungkin ada yang masih ingat bagaimana Ketua Penerangan PAS Kelantan, Ustaz Ahmad Baihaqi Atiqullah, mengucapkan tahniah kepada Ketua Menteri Pulau Pinang itu yang ingin menjadikan Khalifah Umar Abdul Aziz sebagai rujukannya dalam memerintah negeri. Mereka semua berasa takjub dengan keikhlasan Guan Eng pada waktu itu.
Nah! Sekarang ini pujian melambung-lambung tersebut telah memakan diri sendiri. Haji Hadi pula kini dituduh oleh Guan Eng sebagai seorang yang tidak bercakap benar. Apa yang dapat PAS lakukan? Berdiam diri? Mengiyakan sahaja? Sediakan teks penerangan kepada Guan Eng? Bertaubat seperti mana saranan Khalifah Guan Eng?
PAS...Tepuk dada, tanya iman masing-masing...
