Kamu mesti tunjukkan perbezaan. Barulah rakyat akan percaya dan sokong.

Ini tidak! Kamu yang lebih sudu dari kuah. Melampau sungguh!. Bila orang kritik. Marah! Itulah! Inilah! Datanglah penyokong PR yang sikit (tapi pakai macam2 ID)datang menegakkan benang yang basah.

Nak beli Camry sebijik RM170K. Gedebuk gedebak kiranya RM200K sebijan. Kali 16 jadilah RM3.2 juta. Tu duit rakyat. Nak tolak Perdana V6 lebih kurang RM20K. Tapi tolak Perdana V6 tu kat sedara mara dan kroni, dapatla RM10K sebijik. Kali 16 bijik dapatlah hanya RM160K. nak beli sebijik Camry pun tak lepas. Penyokong PR mati-matian bela DAP punya keputusan. Wei! Ingat sikit? Ingat rakyat setuju ker? Pikir la jauh-jauh.

Jangan cakap nak hapuskan rasuah, kalau rasuah tak terhapus pun.

Is it really a conspiracy as claimed?

Strange Bedfellows

Ripples are emerging in the Pakatan-Rakyat marriage of conveviece. The hardline policy of PAS is disturbing and worrying its bedfellows in DAP and Parti Keadilan.

On the other hand, PAS is in a dilemma and caught between satisfying its non-Muslim desires for equality and an end to discrimination while guarding the sanctity of Islam and Malay by not succumbing to pressures by non-Muslims.

All of them are actually strange bedfellows who could not agree on anything. Same bed and pillows but different dreams.

Infact, fissures between them are obvious now that they are in divergence over issues on the sale of liquor, the appointment of a non-Malay as the general manager of PKNS, etc.etc. to the extent that PAS sole-exco member in the Selangor state government admitted recently that he was in a dilemma over certain policiesof the state and is facing difficulty to work and administer under such condition.

PAS involvement in the mob that broke up a Bar Council inter-faith forum early this year is another example of the same dilemma.

It would also not support a Pakatan Rakyat government that is not majority Malay. The party is also determined to see their party president Datuk Seri Hadi Awang to be Prime Minister if Pakatan seizes power.

The party is in a quandary and unable to resolve the ideological battle between moderation and the demand for a theocratic state.

The electorate believe they woke up to a new Malaysia on March 8 hope for a better Malaysia minus race, religion and discrimination.

However, they were in for a shock that the people whom they had voted for and preaching “common human” values have fallen back on old habits.

PAS-DAP Marriage of Convenience

Conservative PAS and secular DAP are now locking horns over the issue on the sale of liquor in Selangor – exposing that their marriage of convenience is on the rock.

The coalition partners which have expressed discordant views over their political guiding principles over the past years have thrown some doubt into whether they could still preserve the pact made before the March 8 general election.

The spat over the liquor issue and whether the country is an Islamic or a secular state has at least provided some bullets to Barisan Nasional to shoot their political enemies in the fragile coalition.

DAP publicity chief Tony Pua has lambasted PAS Selangor, stating that “it needs a crash course in coalition politics,” after its PR partner reportedly said it would ban all alcohol sales in the state.
He also called Pas Selangor arrogant.

Pua also reminded Pas that they were partners of a coalition in which “they possess only eight of the 36 seats won” by all the members.

Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said: “We do not want to be seen to be encouraging alcohol consumption among the youth and Muslims. But we cannot deny the rights of non-Muslims. Is that all he could say or he is caught in between the marriage of convenience between his friends in the coalition.

PAS deputy president Nasharuddin Mat Isa said in Parliament that PAS stand on this issue, as in others which affect the morals and safety of people, is that there should be controls,” he said, adding that it generally tries to push for this in all states where the party is part of the administration.

Malaysia is an Islamic country.

DAP has maintained that the Federal Constitution says that Islam is the official religion of the country but Malaysia is a secular country.

DAP’s assertions have been rebuffed by PAS leaders.

PAS’s Datuk Harun Din, answering a hypothetical question, said that if PAS took control of the Federal government, it would consider amending the constitution and turning Malaysia into an Islamic state.

This statement invited howls of protests not only from DAP byt MCA leaders.

This proves that PAS and DAP leaders are sleeping on the same pillow but with different dreams. We hope that we will not have nightmares over their marriage problem,

DAP Lies

The Penang Government has pledged to obliterate poverty by March next year which is just three months away.

The vow was made by Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng himself during its numerous meetings with the press while attending official functions in the state.

Lim said one of the ways to turn Penang into a poverty-free state is to use RM17mil from the coffers of the state’s Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP) to provide RM100 rebate to each of the 170,000 households in the state.

The funny thing is that does Lim know there are only 494 hardcore poor families and 1,500 poor families in Penang?

For someone holding the highest executive post in a state, his statement is percetibly misleading and preposterous.

How can he not know the statistics of hardcore poor families at finger tips when he claims to be the champion of poor people.

Obviously, Lim is not sincere in helping poor people as he does not even know what is happening on the ground.

Lim is also fond of digging past faults of the previous state government to cover up his own weaknesses.

The recent Seberang Prai Municipal Council financial debacle where RM230mil in reserves was depleted to RM6.4mil in just nine years was another Lim’s hullaballoo.

The fact that Lim does not know is RM84mil of the reserves was used to build the council’s headquarters in Bandar Baru Perda under the instructions of his Pakatan-Rakyat adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim when the latter was Deputy Prime Minister.

When Lim, his father and his DAP ultra-Chinese party unveiled their 12th general election manifesto, they were plenty of promises in it.

However, after nine months at the helm, the promises turned into blatant lies and many Penangites felt betrayed.

Lim’s father, Lim Kit Siang, the party’s adviser, even pledged to transform Penang into a new Singapore. The Penang Government has pledged to obliterate poverty by March next year which is just three months away.

Instead of becoming a new Singapore, Lim is bucking the trend by luring low-tech FDI which will definitely put Penang at a playing field with the likes of Vietnam, Cambodia and Indonesia.

Lim is not bringing Penang to greater heights but pushing it downward and backward..

TELL US ABOUT YOUR INVESTMENT SUCCESSES, GUAN ENG

TELL US ABOUT YOUR INVESTMENT SUCCESSES, GUAN ENG
EVER since the opposition did beyond its wildest imagination in the 12th general elections in March to control an unprecedented five of the 11 states in the peninsular, leaders of the parties concerned seem to have gone up a couple of gears when taking a position at the expense of the Barisan Nasional.

Of the lot Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng appears to be a bit detached from the hard-line politics of his colleagues in Pakatan Rakyat, even from the position normally taken by his father, the veteran Parliamentarian Lim Kit Siang. The younger Lim has also made many statements that were populist in nature, sounding sweet to the ears of an electorate who have come to loathe and despise many of the ways of the Barisan.

Soon after taking office, one of the first things he pointed his arrows at were what he called land scams under the previous state administration. There were the usual accusations and denials but eight months down the road there is nothing yet to prove Guan Eng correct. If indeed there were improprieties and irregularities I am all for Guan Eng but eventually the people will want to see a closure to his allegations. How many more months will it be before we hear something definite?

Recently Guan Eng spoke at the fourth Asia Economic Summit in Hong Kong where he touched on new measures implemented by his administration which supposedly led to an increase in investments for the first nine months of the year compared to the previous corresponding period. That's certainly not credit where it's due, as I will talk about below. As if that was not enough he went on to blame the "mismanagement and abuse of powers" by the previous administration for allegedly causing an "alarming drop in Penang's position as a leading investment location of choice."

Even if it was true was it necessary for him to mention this in a foreign country? What good does that bring to Penang and the country? Despite the negatives, what Guan Eng didn't tell the audience was that total investments, including foreign ones, for Penang in the years before 2008 kept on increasing. The total quoted by Guan Eng for the first nine months of 2008 was RM8 billion compared to the previous RM4.77 billion. I have looked through all statements on investments in Penang and the total quoted for the first eight months when Guan Eng presented the state budget proposals in November was RM6.1 billion. Where did the additional RM1.9 billion come from within one month?

One foreign company that has already been in Penang for many years is Ibiden, the Japan-based printed circuit board maker. From its first investment in 2000 under Ibiden Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. the company has two factories here -- one in Seberang Jaya and the other in Prai. In May it announced that work on a plant was starting on Penang island in June under an investment worth RM1 billion to be spread out over 10 years.

Here too Guan Eng was quick to claim credit, in the process saying that the Japanese preferred Penang over Nilai in Negri Sembilan because of all the good things his administration had to offer. But anyone who read what transpired at a press conference by the company and Mida would have noticed the federal investment development authority saying that it took a year of negotiations between the agency and Ibiden before the company agreed to make its second investment in the country. That simply means it was a federal agency that did the ground work -- and during the time of Gerakan's Koh Tsu Koon as chief minister. How and when did Guan Eng and his administration come into the picture?

One possible foreign investment resulting from the present administration's efforts is from a South Korean company which will include a golf course, giving it a total worth of about RM360 million but given the prevailing global credit crunch from which South Korea has been badly hit, some have written in the newspapers and at blogs to express doubts if this will eventually materialise. So far that's about the only foreign investment worth any mention that can be attributed directly to the present administration.
