Racist Doctors Pula !!

KEPALA BATAS: Four former patients have come forward in support of an assemblyman who claimed that Chinese doctors at two hospitals in Penang had refused to treat Malay patients.
Mariani Mansor, 22, Shahidah Saad, 27, Nurzawani Zakaria, 28, and Hamid Salleh, 66, related their experiences at a press conference called by Pinang Tunggal assemblyman Datuk Roslan Saidin.
Roslan had come under criticism for allegations he made in the state assembly that the incidents occurred at the hospitals on the mainland.
Mariani claimed that her four-month-old baby girl was neglected by a male doctor last month.
“Though my daughter was coughing non-stop and her face turned blue, the doctor dismissed it, saying that it was normal without prescribing medicine.
“My daughter was only given medicine during the third visit after being referred to the same hospital through a letter issued by a private clinic,” she said.
Shahidah said another doctor initially refused to perform a surgery to remove a metal rod in her right leg despite her experiencing excruciating pain.
“It was only after I lodged a complaint with Roslan that I was allowed to undergo the surgery the next day,” she said.
Nurzawani claimed that during her six months of pregnancy, she experienced severe migraine and blurred vision but was only given paracetamol at one of the hospitals.
After being referred to a different doctor, she was admitted and informed there was internal bleeding in her right eye.
Roslan said Penang state health commit-tee chairman Dr Afif Bahardin should apologise to the families involved or he should resign.
“Now that I have furnished the complaints with evidence, he should apologise,” he said.
When met, Dr Afif reiterated that if the doctors were wrong, they should apologise to the patients.
Just like in the Sg. Buloh school, there is taichi going on here as well. People complained. They were not listened to. Then the ADUN fellow took it up after which the people who complained held a Press Conference.
Now the State health committee chairman says if the doctors were wrong, they should apologise. Not him. Its none of his business. He is just the state health committee chairman. No one knows what is his responsibility or what are his functions. Taking action over such complaints is not one of them.
In the Sg Buloh school. a lot of tai chi experts have come out to defend the school as well - you can see some of the comments.
Well it looks like even the Gomen officers who are investigating do not have all the answers. here is the Star :
i. officers from various government departments questioned them repeatedly on why the pupils had been moved to the changing room.
ii. The canteen, which was directly opposite the changing room, was re-opened to the pupils yesterday on the directive of the Education Ministry.
So the canteen was magically reopened. But the Gomen folks have still not understood why the pupils were put in the changing room beside the toilet.
