Penang Armada rejects ouster of Dr M, four other Bersatu leaders, says against party constitution
GEORGE TOWN: Penang Angkatan Bersatu Anak Muda Malaysia (Armada), the youth wing of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM), rejects the termination of top party leaders, saying it goes against the party constitution.
"We totally reject the termination of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, Datuk Amiruddin Hamzah and Dr Mazlee Malik," Penang Armada said in a statement on Friday (May 29).
Penang Armada said the ouster contravenes the reasons cited from the constitution as the leaders did not declare that they were leaving the party nor have they joined another party, as they are still with Bersatu.
"The letter signed by Bersatu executive secretary Capt (R) Muhammad Suhaimi Yahya goes against the ethics of party administration as such a post is non-existent in the party's constitution, thus making the terminations invalid," the statement added.
Penang Armada also said it stands firm with the ousted leaders and hoped the crisis could be resolved soon.
